I was bored, so I wanted to make a thread for my future gaming system for Halo. Boy, I can't believe the price for an Xbox 360!
$279.99 for the system and controller alone! With a game or two, it costs $359.99. I'm gonna be getting a regular Xbox for my bday. I'm gonna get a used and reconditioned one, along with Halo Combat Evolved and Halo 2. Both of the games are $24.00 and the console is about $59.99 which is an excellent price.

Wow, the price sure is high... I didn't know it costed that much!
Merry Christmas! It sounds like a good gift and I hope you have a good time playing videogames at a more reasonable price.

The Xbox 360 is pretty cheap compared to the PS3. So it really is pointless to get an Xbox now. But hey its not my decision.
Lets see: Xbox 360 costs $349.99 (Pro)
Thats not that bad, sale your old Xbox for money for the 360. Its simple.

In my personal opinion, both are better than the PS3. You get more for your money...
Quite personally, I think the 360 is okay. Not great, but okay. Especially because there are three different versions, one of which needing a fricking hard drive to download music or play regular X-Box games. Money grubbin' scam artists... Though, the 360 has MUCH better games than the other systems.

I like X-Box 360 too... I was messing around with one at ABC Warehouse. I thought it was pretty cool. -|________________________________________________________________|- Have you ever played the game "Sly Cooper"? you know, the one with the raccoon that wears a sailor uniform or something? I like that game.

Wow, they sure are expensive. Reconditioned is a good idea! Never own a reconditioned system. It will break faster than ever. It might work when you buy it but your screen might freeze and will soon have the Ring Of Death. You also don't know what happened to the system. I got an Reconditioned PS2 and it broke in a week so yeah,

huh... Sounds like a bad idea.
In this day and age, if you get a discount, it's crud. If you're getting high quality, it makes you go broke.

Mhm... What's this "Ring of Death?" Surely Sauron could not be the cause of this... Could he? Okay, no, I realize it's some sort of system error... But what is it that it does, what are people referring to?
Used systems are normally a bad idea altogether. If you're going to get one, save up and get a new one. I remember when I was trying to get a PSP... I kept on finding "good deals." But guess what? Upon interrogation inspection, it turned out that they all had problems. Busted analog sticks (How can you sell one that you can't even use?), busted speakers (Can't really play a game without sound, you know?), and the latter. Eventually I found one in good condition. It actually worked... But I was soon disapointed by bad graphics, boring gameplay that I beat within a day, and stuff like that.
Moral of the story? Make sure you inspect the item it is you're trying to get before you get it. Used systems can be... Less than ideal. As are used games.

I might get it. I'm not sure. I just want Halo and Halo 2. I'm tired of playing the same video games for the PS2. I wanted to get Killzone, but they curse and stab people in the neck on that game. It's a combat game and a so-called "Halo Killer" for the PS2.

The ring of death is indeed a system error, one that breaks the system. But its only on the 360 and is starting to have fewer each month. What you see is 3 flashing red lights on the 360. MC, you don't want Halo 3? You could play Halo 1, 2 , and 3 on the 360.

If you don't like reconditioned technology NEVER buy a Hewlett-Packard anything... any repair they make under warranty is by using reconditioned parts...

Uhhhh...not for nothing. HP has been pretty good to my family. Yes, I want Halo 3, yes I want an X360, but no, I don't wanna pay $279.98 to play a video game. Caboose, you bought a PS2, which can stink at times.
Especially the old ones, that system was good for three years, then, it turded out on me. Although, it did take a beating. And it depends on what type you bought. If it was a "brick" PS2 and not a slimline, that's probably the reason, the old ones always had overheating problems.

Perhaps your family didn't have any problems? I have bought four notebook computers from them in the past five years. Priced from $1,300 to $2,000, which is a lot of scratch! In the beginning HP gave great customer service, until they outsourced it to a call center in India. One notebook was repaired by them at their site in California 13 times! They replaced my defective motherboard (the unit was only 40 days old) with a used one, which promptly blew and blew things which had been previously working. I finally paid to have a brand-new notebook repaired by a private company, even though it was under warranty, and it has worked fine ever since.
